A Charmed reboot is officially brewing in a cauldron at the CW! The network, which carries the DNA of what once was The WB, is considering revisiting the much-loved series which originally ran from 1998 - 2006 on its predecessor.
A pilot script has been ordered for the project, which will be overseen by Jane the Virgin EP Jennie Snyder Urman.
As reported by TVline.com's Michael Ausiello:
Featuring an all-new cast, I'm hearing the potential series revolves around three witches who are brought together to fight evil in a small New England town circa 1976.
Although there don’t appear to be any clear connections to the characters portrayed by Alyssa Milano, Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs and Rose McGowan, one of the new witches (at least per unofficial intel) bears the same name as McGowan’s Paige.
Fans of the original have had mixed reactions to the news online, and the feelings seem to be mutual when you consider the original cast's responses on Twitter.
No matter how they may feel, actress Alyssa Milano was just grateful to fans still having a passion for the series ten years after the finale.
So, what say you, Charmed fans? Are you excited for a potential to revisit the Halliwell sisters' world of magic and demons, even if it means without the sisters themselves? Feel free to sound off on the Super18: the CW Facebook page or Tweet at us @Super18TV.
