OUR ISSUES MILWAUKEE's Andrea Williams named one of Wisconsin's Most Influential African Americans 2016 by news site Madison365.

News site Madison365 has named Super18: the CW | My24's own Andrea Williams one of 2016's Most Influential African Americans in Wisconsin. For the second time, Madison365 compiled a list of people its team considers to be successful role models for the African American community.

The goal, according to the story from the site's Founder, Henry Sanders, Jr., is to highlight the beauty of diversity in the community, and to let African American kids know that it's possible to achieve great things here in Wisconsin. The list highlights forty-four people Madison365 wants to recognize for being real community leaders, in hopes of helping Wisconsin residents make connections and start conversations that will truly move area communities forward in 2017 and beyond.

The profile on Ms. Williams reads:

Andrea Williams is the News and Public Affairs Director for five Lakefront Communication Stations in Milwaukee, where she produces and hosts a weekly Public Affairs program. Just watching a couple of her shows, you will see a “Who’s Who” list of guests. Williams has delivered news on XM Satellite Radio and is currently the executive producer and host of Our Issues Milwaukee, a local public affairs television program, on Milwaukee’s My 24 and CW 18.
A graduate of Central State University, Williams is well known for her involvement in the Milwaukee community. She visits schools and has hosted many community events and numerous telethons for the United Negro College Fund. Regarded as a “Jill of All Trades,” Williams is a former six-year veteran of the Milwaukee Bucks Energee! Dance Team and spent 10 seasons as the Milwaukee Bucks Official Gameday Host.

As mentioned, Andrea Williams serves as the executive producer and host of the locally produced public affairs program Our Issues Milwaukee, which shines a spotlight on community concerns and programs with the help of esteemed weekly guests. Our Issues Milwaukee can be seen Sunday mornings at 7:30a on Super18: the CW, Saturday mornings at 6:30a on My24, and segments are available on demand on Super18tv.com and My24Milwaukee.com.

Joining Ms. Williams on this years list are Wisconsin Badgers Men's Basketball student athlete Nigel Hayes, Director of Player Engagement for the Green Bay Packers Rob Davis, Chief Judge Maxine Aldridge White, and more. The Milwaukee Bucks have invited all of Madison365's "Black Power 2016" honorees to attend the January 16th Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebration game, where they will host a VIP luncheon and recognize the honorees on-court during that afternoon's contest.
